This year in Sport…

Breezes Gym instructors have attended the school and held Circuit, and Funky Pump after school clubs.

Circuit Training – A range of activities that promoted fitness and technique.
Funky Pump – Aerobics and dance club to music.

Here are the after school clubs run by staff, and the competitions we have entered;

Rugby – An after school rugby club run during the autumn term for year 5 and 6 children. They later attended a tag-rugby tournament in February and reached the semi final.

Cyclone Club – A club dedicated to fun and fitness.

Multi-Skills Club – A club dedicated to improving coordination and ball control across a range of sports.

Athletics – Year 5 and 6 took part in Athletics competitions in the Sobell Centre and the University of South Wales.

Football – We were unbeaten in the league, and won the Roffi Shield.

Swimming – Children in Y5 and 6 have been going swimming once a week to develop their skills. We will also be entering a team into the annual swimming gala, we came third last year and have high hopes again this year!

Sports Day – Parents are invited to attend our KS2 sports day again this year on the morning of the 10th June at Aberdare High School.

Residential – Year 6 developed a range of skills on their week long residential at Royal Oak, such as, archery, climbing and abseiling, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.
